We have noticed a number of alt accounts that we've had to take action against in our Ventari Sell and High End Forums recently. From artificially inflating the price of an item by posting a bid in their own sell thread, to users having multiple accounts in order to post more than the 1 allowed sell thread at a time.

In light of this, we will be especially vigilant over the next several weeks in order to preserve the integrity of the trading sytem on Guild Wars Guru. While having an alternate account is not in itself a bannable offense but highly discouraged, using one to inflate your price or post more threads then you should will result in a permanent ban of the alt account and an immediate 3 week ban on your primary account. I know that the users of these forums do not take kindly to individuals who circumvent or violate these guidelines when so many try to adhere to the rules. I hope you can all understand these measures as we try to make this system fair to all users.

Let it be noted that we are also not without compassion and understanding. If users have alternate accounts that they have been using to inflate their own prices, they may PM me directly with the following information:

The names of the main and alternate accounts.
Specific threads you have pulled this off in
Apology and vow to keep to a single account for sell forum use

If the three requirements are met, I will be more than happy to delete the alternate account/accounts with no repercussions to the main account.

This does not apply to accounts that have attempted this beyond September 21, 2006. You are all now more than aware of what we are doing and should not have any reason to continue your actions.

By the time of this post, 5 accounts have already been banned. Please don't become one of the group.

UPDATE: We have now banned 16 unique users, and a total of 36 alternate accounts in 3 days. Please be assured we are doing our best to stop people from artificially inflating their bids by posting with alt accounts or trying to violate forum guidelines by posting more than 1 thread at a time. All these users have verified offenses.

UPDATE: I've been going thru alternate accounts again in the past 3 weeks, and permanently banned more than 50 unique users.
Let this be a warning for the future.
